The objective of the contest is to encourage excellence in metalwork classes and is open to all metalworking students in high school in Vernon, Armstrong, Enderby and Lumby. Any metalworking student in the 2009/2010 school year is eligible to enter. Projects of the students' choice will be judged on workmanship, technical merit and ingenuity. Students may submit more than one entry, but only one award will be presented per student. Entries must be completed and submitted to the metalwork teacher by June 3rd, 2010 to be forwarded to QUICKTURN for judging. The first place winner will receive $350 as well as an annual trophy to be displayed at his or her school. Second place will receive $250 and third will receive $150. There will be keeper plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The awards will be presented at the schools' annual awards day. QUICKTURN will donate tools to all participating schools.
